We're pretty sure our customers already know how valuable they are to us, so instead of sending wine to our clients this Christmas, we've bought Christmas trees on their behalf... well technically trees at Christmas to plant natural flood defences in some of the most at risk parts of the planet.
Teamsolve's 2008 donation will help Oxfam provide better protection from natural disasters and help bring back shellfish, providing food and a sustainable source of income to those who need it most.
Planting grass, trees or mangroves strengthens the soil and protects people, land and livestock when the water levels rise. What's more, these natural barriers are easy for local communities to plant and manage.
Teamsolve have been making charitable Christmas donations to Oxfam for a number of years now...
- 2007 - Teamsolve enabled Oxfam to provide safe drinking water for 1000 people living in one of the world's most poverty stricken environments.
- 2006 - Teamsolve enabled Oxfam to build an entire classroom.
- 2005 - Teamsolve enabled Oxfam to provide a camel to work and produce crucial milk and fuel, provide essential medicine for a year for an entire village, fund a teacher for a class for a month, provide school dinners for 600 children and plant 450 trees to give essential crops to eat or sell.
