Oracle Builds on Success in Financial Services

Oracle today announced the launch of the Oracle Banking Industry Strategy Council, a group of senior IT executives from leading banking institutions that is sharing its collective insight to help drive Oracle's strategy for the banking industry.

Allied Irish Banks p.l.c (AIB), Barclays Bank PLC, ING Groep N.V., National Australia Bank Limited and Rabobank Group are among the council's charter members.

The Oracle Banking Industry Strategy Council builds on Oracle's initiatives to seek customer input into product strategy and direction by focusing on the specific requirements of the banking industry. The council is intended to build and strengthen executive-level customer relationships, validate Oracle's product direction, identify areas of concern and enable customers to directly influence Oracle's strategic vision for the banking industry.

Creation of the council, which will meet twice annually, underscores Oracle's understanding of the need for sustained dialogue with senior banking executives as the company continues to expand its focused applications for the financial services sector.

The Banking Industry Strategy Council joins other Oracle initiatives designed to secure customer input and feedback, including the Insurance Industry Strategy Council, announced earlier this year, and The Financial Services Leaders Circle Program, an executive forum being held in conjunction with Oracle(r) OpenWorld that includes more than 100 financial services business leaders from around the globe.

Oracle Industry Strategy Councils include a select group of senior executives from customer organizations considered leaders in their industries. Oracle today hosts councils for 11 industries and plans to launch several additional councils in the next year.
